First visit is an evaluation to determine how many sessions will be scheduled at the home/office.  John guides the owner and other family members on weekly basis with basic obedience commands and common and severe behavioral problems (jumping up, running away, aggression problems with people or with other dogs, separation anxiety, etc.)

10 day in-kennel program:

Back in 1994, John was the first local dog trainer to introduce an innovative dog training method to the Central Florida area, the 10 day in-kennel obedience training program.  The other training companies, at the time, were requiring longer programs (from 3 to 6 weeks) to accomplish what he could do in less than 2 weeks.  It quickly became popular and remains a very convenient way to train your dog when you maintain a busy lifestyle due to hectic work or home schedules.  Your dog will stay with us for 10 days, during which time he or she will be taught all of the basic obedience commands such as heel, sit, stay, sit/stay, down and come.  We can also address other problems such as housebreaking issues, jumping, barking, etc.  On the 11th day you, the owner, will be trained with your dog to ensure both of you can work together.  Of course, you and your family members are welcome to visit your pet during its stay with us.  This allows you to see the progress being made, as well as help deal with the separation anxiety!  You will also receive an in-home session from John about one week after your dog returns home so he can be sure you and your dog are still working well together.  

Cost:  $825.00 (Basic 10-Day program), discounts available for multiple dogs.

  This package is for puppies under 1 year of age and includes an evaluation of your puppy,  5 private 1 hour in-home sessions (covering obedience training, problem solving, housebreaking, etc.) and the 6 week Basic Obedience class. 

    Total cost is $550.00 for the course.

6 Week Basic Obedience Class

The Basic Obedience Class is an 6 week course offered for dogs 4 months of age and older.  It only requires 1 hour of your time each week and we encourage all family members to attend.  

Dogs will learn: 

• Heel (how to walk on a leash) 

• Sit  

• Come

• Sit-Stay

• Down   

• Down-Stay

Minor behavior issues are also addressed during the first class such as jumping on people, chewing,obsessive barking, housebreaking, etc.  Classes are held in the evenings and on Saturday morning at several different locations  in the Central Florida area.  Class size is limited to 12 dogs so be sure to reserve a space early!

Cost is $175.00 for an 6 week course with 4 different locations available.

John McGrath is a certified evaluator for the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen program. This course is designed to teach your dog how to handle distractions (wheelchairs, strollers, other dogs and people) while out in public, to increase their attention span, to encourage better socialization skills.  Each week we will learn and practice various skills leading up to graduation, at which time your dog should be able to pass each of the 10 requirements and earn his or her AKC Canine Good citizen Certificate.  Passing this class makes your dog eligible to go with us on an outing to a local nursing home facility where the dogs will interact with the staff and the seniors who live there.  Dates maybe subject to change.  If you would like to learn more click the link above.
